Fishing

One hour before sunrise we will get up and enjoy a typical breakfast which consists of steamed rice with a lot off vegetables, fried and crispy coconut and fish powder with silong tea.

Then the English speaking guide (Mr. Santi), a fisherman and you (up to 4 travelers) will head out the small port in direction of the ocean. While the longboat makes its way through the mangrove you will see flying fishes trying to get away. After a couple of hundreds of meters (the canal to the ocean dug by hand 15 years ago) you reach the ocean.

In the morning you will see a lot off birds flying behind the boats trying to get some fish. Combining this with the sunrise and the look on the Kho luang mountain it is a wonderful sight.

The local fishermen are very happy to show their skills to you and you will get the change to go on their boat to admire the catch. You will see a lot off species which you have never seen before. After 1 hour of watching them, it is up to you.

The guide and fisherman will show you how to throw the nets and they will stay in the water for about 1 hour. In the meanwhile you can enjoy looking at the other fishermen, watching the sunrise and learning from the guide Mr. Santi. He can tell you a lot about the Muslim culture, the lifestyle of the fishermen, the different species, the ocean, the history of the area…
